Vadodara/Anand: Maulana Lukman Tarapuri, the Pesh Imam of the Jama Masjid in Anand district on Tuesday, submitted an application to Anand district superintendent of police (DSP) demanding arrest of VHP leader Pravin Togadia in connection with the latter's hate speech in Bhavnagar.
Tarapuri, who is Gujarat unit president of All India Imam Council, wanted police complaint against Togadia be registered under section 153 or section 555 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In a statement, the imam said Togadia's statement in which he had asked his supporters to get vacated the house purchased by a Muslim man in a Hindu locality near Meghani Circle area in Bhavnagar, hurts Muslim community.
Meanwhile, Bhavnagar police on Monday booked Togadia for fanning communal hatred.
