We were anxious while shooting 'Koyelaanchal' in Jharkhand: Suniel Shetty
Suniel Shetty, who was in Vadodara to promote his upcoming Bollywood film 'Koyelaanchal' (it also stars Vinod Khanna), says that he was quite anxious and scared while shooting for the movie in Jharkhand. Talking about the experience of shooting the film, which is based on the coal mafia, Shetty says, “We were told by the locals that the Naxal threat is very real in those parts and so, in spite of the security that had been provided we were pretty anxious and scared.
I think Naxalism is the biggest threat to our country today because unlike the threat from our neighbours, these are our own people who have turned against the system! In fact, once our shoot used to get over, there would be people who would come and tell us that some of the people who were watching the shoot were actually a part of the Naxalite movement! But overall, the crowd turned out to be a much disciplined one and we had one of the easiest shoots in recent memory!”

He adds, “It is a very strong film and offers a layered story that highlights the cat and mouse game between the authorities and the mafia. I feel Jharkhand is the real hero of this film! It was a challenging role because I had to work on aspects like body language.”
