M'sian PM's Wife Receives Courtesy Calls From First Lady Of Sudan, Albania

PUTRAJAYA, April 22 (Bernama) -- The prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor Tuesday received courtesy calls from the First Lady of Sudan and Albania in conjunction with the International Seminar on Autism 2014. Her meeting with the Sudan president's wife, Fatima Khalid Ahmad Al Bashir lasted almost 45 minutes and was held at the prime minister's official residence in Seri Perdana here. It was followed by a meeting with the Albania president's wife, Odeta Nishani. The two-day seminar was officiated by Prime Minister Najib Razak Tuesday. Themed "Autism Is Not A Tragedy, Ignorance Is", it emphasises on the importance of providing high quality intervention programme to autistic children. The seminar, which is organised by Program Permata in collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and non-governmental organisation, Autism Speaks was attended by about 1,500 participants. Among the international presenters are Prof Dr Eric Fomboune from Oregon Health and Science University, Prof Dr Cheryl Dissanayake (La Trobe University, Australia) and Dr Wu Ruth Yu Yu (Taipei Teachers University) besides several autism experts from Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
