Jamie Cureton ensured Cheltenham's League Two survival with a second-half brace to see off in-form Mansfield at the One Call Stadium.
The visitors came the closest to scoring before the break when Lewis Price blocked Matt Richards' effort.
The deadlock was finally broken for Cheltenham in the second half when Cureton slotted home from close range.
Cureton then sealed three points as he took the ball wide of Price before chipping into the net.
Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"It was poor. I can take us not passing the ball well, I can take us not keeping our shape, but what I can't take is us being out-worked.
"There was a lack of hunger and a lack of desire. It was a performance that lacked everything.
"They did what we our usually good at. I just can't believe the total lack of desire from us."
Cheltenham Town boss Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"They (Mansfield) have got a way of playing that suits them. They've got pace and power and you have to deal with crosses, but I thought we were great from start to finish.
"He (Byron Harrison) was a real handful, both in the air and on the floor and as the game wore on he got better and better.
"We have got a decent enough group. We just haven't shown it enough."
