Talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was a while ago caught in verbal spat with Rishi Kapoor over deriding romantic roles is once again in the news. No, not for running around trees finally but for reportedly being pencilled down to play a homosexual character in director Hansal Mehta's next.
Hansal Mehta, whose name was announced as the best director to bag the National Award for his film Shahid is currently busy with work on his next film City Lights, which deals with the problems of migrant labourers in Mumbai.
Just like Shahid and City Lights, his next film starring Nawazuddin is expected to be a human drama in the wake of Article 377 which labels homosexuality as a punishable crime. The Nawazuddin starrer will deal with love and its ramifications on gay couples in an increasingly intolerant society.
