Defensive tackles: Aaron Donald, Timmy Jernigan among top prospects
Notable defensive tackle prospects:
AARON DONALD, PITTSBURGH
Height: 6-1. Weight: 285.
Scouting report: An All-American without ideal size but whose quickness into the gaps could make him ideal for teams that rely on their lines to generate pressure. A strong lower body. Models his game after Cincinnati Bengals all-pro Geno Atkins.
Insider's take: "Aaron Donald is a disruptive player. ... Goes to the Senior Bowl, they couldn't block him the entire week."
— NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah
Projected round: First
TIMMY JERNIGAN, FLORIDA STATE
Height: 6-2. Weight: 299.
Scouting report: A defensive force for the Seminoles' national championship team in 2013. Excels in run defense but also does a decent job getting to quarterbacks. Lacks elite athleticism and size and probably is a bit short to play end for a 3-4 team. Needs to improve conditioning.
Insider's take: "People focus on the fact that he got kind of gassed out at the end of that (national championship) game, but I thought he was a dominant player for the first three-plus quarters. I think he's a really good player, gives you a more stout guy." — Jeremiah
Projected round: First, second
RA'SHEDE HAGEMAN, MINNESOTA
Height: 6-6. Weight: 310.
Scouting report: Has the athletic ability to dominate but hasn't shown it with enough regularity. But the former tight end is learning the ropes on the defensive line. His huge frame should allow him to plug into any scheme. Swats a lot of passes.
Insider's take: "Enormous physical tools. He's tall; he's big. He flashes on tape, but there's not that consistency there. I think he's gonna be a top 25 pick (but) presents some risk." — ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay
Projected round: First, second
DOMINIQUE EASLEY, FLORIDA
Height: 6-2. Weight: 288.
Scouting report: High-effort player who gets into the backfield quickly. On the smaller side, but he should be fine in passing situations. Has torn both anterior cruciate ligaments; the injury to his right knee cut short his 2013 season.
Insider's take: "He's got big durability concerns. ... But when you look at him, he's got a chance to be a dominant three-technique in the NFL. He plays with great passion, explosive first step."
— McShay
Projected round: Second, third
BRENT URBAN FLORIDA
Height: 6-7. Weight: 295.
Scouting report: A Canadian drafted by the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats last year. Has battled several injuries and broke a foot at the Senior Bowl. His best NFL role is probably as a 3-4 defensive end or a pass rusher in sub-packages.
Insider's take: "You'd like to see him get a little stronger. ... But you've got definitely somebody you can develop there."
— Jeremiah
Projected round: Middle rounds
