Top Cong, BJP leaders line up for Telangana poll show

HYDERABAD: Star campaigners of the Congress and the BJP are set to descend on Telangana starting Monday as the poll campaign touches its peak ahead of the polling on April 30. While Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address poll rallies in Mahbubnagar and Nizamabad on Monday, BJP's PM pick Narendra Modi would campaign in those cities and Karimnagar on Tuesday.Modi will also lead an NDA rally at LB Stadium in the city on Monday in which TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan are expected to take part.
While the Telangana Congress unit is planning to hold Rahul's road shows in Warangal and Hyderabad on April 25, Congress president Sonia Gandhi is slated to address a public meeting on April 27 in Medak, from where TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao is contesting for the Lok Sabha.
According to Sravan Dasoju, chief spokesperson of Telangana Congress, the party would use the services of a translator when Rahul and Sonia make their speeches. He said the decision was taken in view of the public, as many had complained of being unable to understand when Sonia addressed a rally in Hindi in Karimnagar on April 16.
Several more from the BJP camp are queuing up to address the state. Sushma Swaraj will campaign in Warangal, Bhongir and Medak parliament constituencies on April 25 followed by BJP national president Rajnath Singh in Adilabad, Nizamabad and Warangal constituencies on April 26. Former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari will campaign in Adilabad and Nalgonda districts on April 23 while Goa chief minister Manohar Parikkar and BJP spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad will campaign in city on April 24.
