Chowdhury, one of the 12 convicted of the assassination, has been staying at Los Angeles in the US.

Chandpur’s Superintendent of Police (SP) has directed Hajiganj Police to implement the order on Apr 8, said OC Shah Alam on Sunday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (South) Special Superintendant of Police Abdul Kahar Akand signed the order.

It follows the decision by the taskforce for convicted fugitive killers of the nation’s independence hero.

Hajiganj Upazila Executive Officer Hosna Afroza said Chowdhury and his kin are entitled to more than 9 acres of land including groves, cultivable plots, ponds in Hajiganj’s Shunaimuri, as documented by the home ministry.

He along with his seven brothers and two sisters are inheritors of his father Shihab Uddin Chowdhury’s property.

The taskforce has directed the police to seize and annul Chowdhury’s share after separating it from the rest with the help of the partition deed.

Chowdhury’s share has already been distinguished and soon it will be marked with a red flag and a signboard, said Afroza.
