KEAM 2014: Exams start tomorrow
KEAM 2014 will be held from April 21 to April 23.
Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical Exam (KEAM ) 2014 conducted by Kerala CEE held from April 21 to April 23.
The entrance exam, KEAM conducted for admission to Engineering and medical colleges in Kerala will take place at 327 centres across the state, two in Delhi and one each in Mumbai, Ranchi and Dubai.
The number of candidates appearing for the engineering entrance examinations is 1,19,025 which comprises 61,671 boys and 57,354 girls. A total of 1,02,460 candidates will appear for the medical entrance exams, which includes 34,272 boys and 68,188 girls.
The examination centers will be supervised by a total of 22,000 invigilators. 332 chief superintendents and an equal number of observers and representatives of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) will ensure its smooth conduct.
Exam Schedule:
April 21, 2014 (10 am to 12.30 pm): Engineering Paper I (Physics and Chemistry):
April 22, 2014 (10 am to 12.30 pm): Engineering Paper II (Mathematics)
April 23, 2014 (10 am to 12.30 pm): Medical Paper I (Physics and Chemistry):
April 23, 2014 (2:30 pm to 5:00 pm): Medical Paper II (Biology)
The answer key of the exams will be published on the website of the CEE (www.cee-kerala.org) at 6 pm on April 23. The result for theaspirants taking engineering papers is expected on May 20 and results of th aspirants taking Medicam paper is expected on June 25
Exam details:
KEAM-2014 will be objective type with multiple choice questions (MCQ) and based on single response. Each question will have five suggested answers of which only one will be the right answer. The candidate will have to select and mark the alphabet (A, B, C, D or E) corresponding to the right/most appropriate response in the OMR answer sheet.
Both the Engineering and Medical entrance examination will consist of 120 questions which have to be answered in 150 minutes.
Scoring, negative marks: The candidates will be given four marks for every right answer and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer from the total score. In case the candidate leaves a question unanswered, there will be no deduction of marks. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response, and will be awarded negative marks. Also, the candidates who fail to answer at least one question in each paper will be disqualified.
