They are most-talked about kids of their respective countries and their fan following extends across borders -- Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's daughter Aradhaya and Kate Middleton and Prince William's son George. The paparazzi pursue them wherever they go, their choice of outfits is constantly scrutinised, their inadvertent choice of accessories become a style statement for thousands of children globally. Their names have started a frenzy among many parents to name their child either Aaradhya or George.

India and England witnessed an obsession, inscrutable to any sane man, during pregnancies of Aish and Kate respectively. Right since their birth, Aaradhya Bachchan and George Alexander Louis are a toast of their countries – be it media, social circuit, fashion houses or social networking sites. And they deserve that. George, almost a nine-month-old bonny baby now, is not only born to Britain's most-loved couple but is also the future king of the English empire. Aardhya, on the other hand, is daughter of Bollywood royalty born to AbhiAsh, and has international icon Amitabh Bachchan as her grandfather.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's recent Down Under trip showed that media can't have enough of George. Since the time the young royal landed in New Zealand, the global media started bombarding viewers and reader with news on the young Prince – how he looked so cute in a baby jumpsuit, how he played with a giant cuddly wombat gifted by Australian governor, how he made a grumpy face when handed over to a nanny – which refused to end with the tour. TV channels strive to 'break' stories on what George wore for his baptisation to what he ate on flight. The Indian media is no different. From her own Rolls Royce to her personal playing open space to spending time with her dad, Aaradhya's activities continue to engage the country. When Amitabh Bachchan broke the news of her taking her first steps, it became national news. Many people took to debates on social networking sites asking if it was right to send her school at such a nascent age.
Social connect
Though both George and Aaradhya are popular on social networking sites, the former seems to have beaten the Bachchan girl in this aspect. However, this may also be a result of Bachchans trying to keep Aaradhya away from media eye. Despite all the efforts, the Bachchan Baby has at least 12 Twitter accounts created by her fans and her Facebook page claims to be followed by not less than 1,000 people. While the Royal Baby page on Facebook, which says 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are Now A Mummy and Daddy', has almost 10,000 likes. George's fans have created almost 35 accounts on his name on Twitter. Of these, @RoyalFetus, which was created when the news of Kate being pregnant broke out, is still active.
Media buzz
And they are the paparazzi's fave kids. Tabloids love to gush about Aardhya, right from the different types and colours of her hair clips to the kind of shoes she wears. There have been heated unfruitful debates on social sites over the features of the baby -- does she look more like Ash or Abhi? Both mothers are hand-on kids – she is always in her mom's or dad's arms and never seen in a pram or walking while Kate too never lets go of her bundle of joy, even when the couple is vacationing in exotic locales. Though there is no dearth of celebrity kids, these two children of world's much-loved couples outshine them all when it comes to catching eyeballs – of people across age and backgrounds.
