Andrew Russell grabbed the only goal of the game as Berwick ended East Stirlingshire's play-off hopes.
Russell struck on the stroke of half time after being played in by Ross Gray, with home goalkeeper William Bald pulling off saves from Kevin Turner, David Greenhill and Maxwell Wright to preserve the lead.
The win means Berwick are now just three points adrift of a play-off spot.
Shire, however, are out of the running with two games left to play.
