17 Pakistanis held trying to enter India

SSB’s Deputy Commandant Mitul Kumar, posted at Sunauli border, said they were carrying Pakistan passports with them.

Seventeen  people, including four women and 10 children, were detained by security forces in Maharajganj while they were trying to enter India through the Nepal border without valid papers. They were stopped by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Sunauli border in Maharajganj district.

SSB’s Deputy Commandant Mitul Kumar, posted at Sunauli border, said they were carrying Pakistan passports with them. He said they have been sent to Delhi under police protection.
Sources said during questioning, the male members claimed they belonged to Jammu and Kashmir and had crossed over to Pakistan many years ago. They had got married and settled there, doing odd jobs. They also claimed that they had come to India in view of J&K government’s rehabilitation policy. Sources said they flew from Pakistan to Kathmandu before trying to cross over to India.
