iPhone 6: Will 4.7-inch device be followed by 5-inch version?

Images have been leaked to Weibo, China's answer to Twitter, purportedly showing blueprints for the iPhone 6.

The images are reported in The Telegraph and appear to show colourful mock-ups of casting moulds with dimensions for a 4.7-inch iPhone, which may be followed up with a 5-inch model.

If the images are what they are believed to be, the design looks like it will be similar to the current iPhone with curved corners and a fingerprint scanner.

The Telegraph says the images reportedly come from inside a Foxconn factory in China, which makes components for the iPhone.

Yahoo! News recently reported on a screenshot leaked to Weibo apparently showing the iOS 8 running on an iPhone 6.

The image pointed to a five-app dock row as opposed to the four by six layout on the smaller 4-inch iPhones.

The iPhone 6 is expected to be announced in September this year, with a release soon after around late October or early November.

There are rumors it will come with a 13 megapixel camera, dwarfing the current 8mp.

The internals are a bit vague beyond an A8 chip and the screen display size is also uncertain, with 1080p and sapphire glass among the predictions.

It's also not been confirmed whether it will follow the Samsung Galaxy S5 in being dust and water resistant.

Samsung is a strong rival so if it wants to claw as much market share as possible away from the Korean giant, it should be seeking to get one over in every way possible.
