Manchester United manager David Moyes revealed he has already got plans in place in signing players for the next campaign, just after the end of the current season.

The Red Devils have endured a disastrous season under the guidance of the former Everton boss. United sit seventh in the league table with 57 points from 33 games and are set to miss out of the Champions League for the first time in 18 years after winning the Premier League title last year.

Moyes was recently in attendance during Benfica's fixture against FC Porto at the Estadio da Luz. Earlier reports claimed the Scot was personally scouting Porto star Jackson Martinez and the former Real Madrid defender Ezequiel Garay.

However, the United manager has suggested that the Old Trafford outfit are keen on strengthening the squad for the next season and will make new additions when the opportunity is right to sign their transfer target.

"I've got to say I'm well into my planning with my thoughts and ideas getting ready for next year. We're linked with player after player and every time I go to a game, I'm supposed to signing three or four players from that game," Moyes explained.

"That isn't the case, but everyone is well aware we are looking to make signings and will try to do that whenever the opportunity arises. It will probably be after the end of the season before anything takes place, but we have got to look to do one or two things."

United's latest addition Juan Mata admitted the manager will bring in top quality players in the upcoming transfer window.

Moyes is looking to finish most part of the business just after the end of the season. However, he fears the World Cup in Brazil could delay the Red Devils bringing in new faces to Old Trafford.

"It's difficult as players are going to be going away for the World Cup so it's maybe not quite as easy as ideally all clubs would like to get the work done early. We cannot guarantee it, but will try to make that happen," Moyes concluded.
