Police in Ueda, Nagano Prefecture, said Friday that 10 people had been attacked by a monkey in a mountainous area since April 7.
Most of the people attacked were bitten by the monkey which attacked them from behind, Fuji TV reported.
Local residents believe it is the same monkey and have put traps out, but with no luck.
A local hunters' club plans to go after the monkey on Sunday.
