Curtis Davies has told his Hull team-mates they could blow their FA Cup Final place if they fluff their lines in Sunday’s dress rehearsal.

Davies and co face Arsenal at the KC Stadium on Sunday in a dry run of the teams' showpiece showdown on May 17 - and the Tigers' centre-half and skipper says they must not try to save themselves for Wembley.

Arsenal will be a decent test because we will see what they have got to hurt us,” he said. “Hopefully it will be a little dress rehearsal, but a good dress rehearsal for us.

“We want some good performances to build momentum going into the final. You can tread on eggshells all you want for a final, but if you’re not doing your job in these remaining league games, you might not be in the Cup Final team.

“So if you’ve got a chance to play in an FA Cup Final, you have to make sure you do the business in these next five games to get your place in the starting line-up.”

Davies claims Hull also cannot let up until they have mathematically secured their Premier League status for next season.

The 13th-placed Humbersiders are a healthy six points above the drop zone with five games to go, but he added: “I think we still need a couple of wins or a win. With Cardiff and Fulham winning [last weekend], that was massive and it’s given them hope.

“We play Fulham and we will both see it as a six-pointer. If we don’t lose that game, it would be massive for us because it would keep them at arm’s length.

"I want to stay up by us doing it, rather than by default.”
