Shivangi Kshirsagar, a student at Anupam Kher’s acting school, was instrumental in his return to direction after more than a decade. She has scripted and acted in a short film, I Went Shopping For
Robert De Niro, helmed by Kher. The short has reportedly drawn praise from several Hollywood celebrities, including De Niro himself. Its international premiere will be held in Florida, soon.

“Mr Kher asked me to buy something that he could gift De Niro during the shoot of Silver Linings Playbook. That set me thinking, ‘Why can’t I write a film on my experience?’” she says.
On his return from the shoot, she presented Kher with the script. “It blew me away and I felt it was worthy of being the maiden venture of Actor Prepares Productions,” recalls Kher, who ensured that he captured the realistic flavour of the events, including indulging in guerrilla shooting.
