YEREVAN. – Armenia's Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan presented the process and prospects of reforms  during his Friday meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern.

Newly appointed Prime Minister attached importance to the development of Armenia-US relations, giving appraisal of reforms carried out with the support of the United States and reiterated government's readiness to continue the process.

“I am confident we will work closely in the future and expect that Armenia will continue reforms with your support,” PM said.

Ambassador Heffern congratulated Abrahamyan on his appointment, and said he is confident that relations between Armenia and U.S. will strengthen and become closer.

Armenian PM said the government will work transparently and openly, adding that each reform should be discussed with all political forces, NGOs and civil society representatives.

U.S. Ambassador and Armenian PM exchanged views on different directions of cooperation and ongoing reforms.

The sides agreed to have a depth-in discussion of the prospects for bilateral cooperation and future programs after the Cabinet is formed.
