HP University invites application for B.Ed admissions

Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, invites applications for admissions to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course, commencing in 2014. The NCTE has approved a total number of 100 seats, out of which 50 seats are in Non-Medical Stream, 30 in Medical Stream, 15 in Arts Stream and five in Commerce Stream, which are filled up as per 100-point roster. However, this distribution is subject to change as per orders from competent authority from time to time.

Eligibility:

Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with 50 per cent of marks in any discipline from any of the recognised universities. The candidates who have appeared in BA/B.Sc./B.Com final year or Master's Degree examination and the result of the same has not yet been declared, can also apply.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of a B.Ed Entrance Test conducted by the university which will consist of one question paper with 150 MCQ type of one mark each and will be of two hours duration. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The minimum qualifying marks in the entrance test will be 35per cent. Questions will be asked on General Awareness, Language & Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Knowledge of National Commissions/Committees on Education, Teaching Aptitude and Attitude.

How to apply:

Candidates have to apply online. Candidates are advised to read the instructions before filling the application form. Candidates have to take the print out of the filled application form. Candidates have to send the application form, along with required documents to below address; The Assistant Registrar (Entrance Tests), Room No 10, Administrative Block, Ground Floor, HP University, Summer Hill, Shimla - 171005.
The photocopies of the application form and the fee receipt be retained for future reference

Application fee:

Rs 600/- for general/OBC candidates
Rs 300/- for SC/ST candidates.

Admit Cards will be available on website: May 26, 2014 onwards
Date of Entrance Test: June 08, 2014 (Sunday)
Date of declaration of Result: June 12, 2014
Date of issuance of merit list: June 20, 2014
