April 18, 2014 — -- Paul Walker's mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, will ask a judge at the end of the month to dismiss her petition to become guardian of the late actor's daughter Meadow, ABC News has confirmed.

Walker's mother had filed a petition to be named legal guardian of the "Fast and Furious" star's 15-year-old daughter last month.

The late actor specified in his will that he wanted his mother to be guardian, according to the petition documents obtained by ABC News. Meadow is currently living with Cheryl Ann Walker.

The reasons for the dismissal will be presented to the court by Cheryl Ann Walker on April 30.

According to the dismissal documents, Walker's mother is now asking the court to exclude the public from the upcoming hearing “so that the minor and other family members can avoid having their private issues disclosed to the public ... that would be in the best interests of the minor.” Meadow's mother is Rebecca Soteros, an ex of Walker's.

Walker died on Nov. 30 in a car crash during a charity event for the actor's organization, Reach Out Worldwide. He was 40 years old.
