Thornton police are asking the community for help in locating a person of interest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run Thursday night.

Around 10 p.m. a witness reported a body in the street in the 9800 block of Race Street, according to police.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police want to question Dannel Bond Kimble, 26, in connection to the incident, police said.

He is described as a white male, 5-feet 9-inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said he drives a 1995 Chevrolet cargo van with Colorado temporary license plate: 030525L, expiration date of April 29, 2014.

The van has chrome wheels, a large wooden rack or platform on the roof of the vehicle, a ladder is attached to the rear door handles of the van with a chain, police said.
