Built by Arctech Helsinki for the Russian Ministry of Transport, Baltika is the world’s first icebreaker built with an asymmetrical hull which allows it to generate a 50 meter wide channel in ice 0.6 meters thick.
The 76.4 meter ship features 9 MW of installed power via Rolls-Royce engines, 7.5 MW is dedicated to the propulsion system and its three azimuthing propulsors.
