Pawan Kumar disappointed that Lucia didn't win a National Award
However, the director takes consolation in the fact that the film is being screened at the Melbourne Film Festival
The National Awards for 2014 are out, and critically acclaimed Kannada film Lucia didn't find a mention on the list. The film, which was in the news for being the first crowd-funded Kannada movie, was directed by Pawan Kumar and starred Neenasam Sathish and Shruthi Hariharan.
Pawan took to Twitter to voice his disappointment at his film not getting an award. "YES we had applied for National awards 2013.And nope we didn't win :( any but that's ok," he tweeted, and then added, "good news is that our film is at the Melbourne Film Festival. So anyone in Oz who is yet to watch on the biggie screen... do catch it." Lucia will be screened at the festival on May 9.
