School suspends classes due to snake infestation

A school in south Kyrgyzstan has suspended classes due to what officials describe as an "onslaught of snakes" on the school.

The 144-student facility in Alay district of Osh, southern Kyrgyzstan, was closed on Tuesday, an official of the Kyrgyz Emergency Situations Ministry told the news agency Interfax.

The official, though did not give a specific date, said a snake had been sighted at the school every day since spring began.

The official also could not inform about the types of snakes available at the facility. He said the school was closed because public health officials could not rid the building of the reptiles.
