LS polls: Campaigning in full swing in Mohali

AAP workers continued their door-to-door campaigning led by party convener Ajit Bhamra.

Campaigning by political parties in Mohali was in full swing on Thursday. Party leaders and workers of all major parties continued their door-to-door campaigning in various villages and also organised several party meetings.

SAD-BJP candidate Prem Singh Chandumajra said that the border with Pakistan would be opened to facilitate free trade not only with Pakistan but also with Central Asian countries. He said the region was directly connected to Central Asia before the partition and the ancient silk route passed through the area.

Meanwhile, Congress candidate Ambika Soni campaigned in Manauli village near here and said that the UPA government granted Rs 1,080 crore for various development works and schemes for the Anandpur Sahib constituency following her intervention as a Union Minister. She said that if elected to power, she would ensure the grants for the constituency are doubled.
