The district election officer of Kendrapada Nitin Bhanudas Jawale on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants (NBW) against 109 government employees, who skipped poll duties.

Kendrapada: The district election officer of Kendrapada Nitin Bhanudas Jawale on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants (NBW) against 109 government employees, who skipped poll duties.
"They were directed to undertake polling duties in Mahakalpada, Aul, Kendrapara and Patkura assembly segments, but were found missing," said the district election officer.

Meanwhile, the district recorded 71% polling till late evening. A polling agent, Sangram Samal, at a booth under Aul segment was arrested after he damaged an EVM. "Except for this incident, the polling was peaceful in the district," Jawale said.
Voters, who remained indoors due to blistering heat during mid-day, came out in large numbers to cast their vote in the later part of the day.
