Kartik Aaryan of Pyaar Ka Punchnama turns macho in Kaanchi

Actor Kartik Aaryan (previously Kartik Tiwari) who was seen in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Akaash Vani is happy he got to work with Subhash Ghai so early in his career. Aaryan only describes his experience on Kaanchi, as one which taught him a lot. “To be able to work under Subhashji’s direction so early on in my career, has been like a dream. I even started assisting him during the shoot, so I’ve only learnt on this film. Sharing screen-space with an actor like Mithunda (Chakraborty) also has taught me so much,” says Aaryan. While his earlier two films saw him in chocolate boy roles, Kaanchi has completely transformed him as an actor, he says. “The roles in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Akash Vani were very urban. The characters weren’t as matured, and were submissive. But in Kaanchi, I run a self-defence academy in the village. I had to make this character very strong, mature, and slightly arrogant with leadership qualities. He’s more macho you can say.” explains Aaryan. But, getting into the action mode wasn’t much of a problem for him. “When I met Subhashji, the first thing he asked me was if I would be able to pull off some action. But that was easy for me, because I’ve had some training in Parkour earlier. I discontinued it after an injury. I’ve also learnt martial arts , so I only had to put to use what I had learnt earlier,” says the actor.
As far as his upcoming projects are concerned, the sequel to Pyaar Ka Punchnama has been in the planning for a while now, but nothing has materialised so far. “The film will definitely happen, but I can talk about it once the official announcement is made by the production house,” he states.
