Lufthansa Technik Philippines and AirAsia X renew partnership

Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP), the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider of choice in Asia, welcomes back AirAsia X as the Malaysian carrier renews its contract for base maintenance.

The renewal heralds a new and enhanced partnership, as Asia’s MRO of choice awaits the carrier for a series of base maintenance checks for its A330 aircraft from May to September of this year.

After much planning on both sides, AirAsia X will reap the benefits of using LTP’s facilities which include hangars customized for the maintenance tasks required for AirAsia X aircraft, and a dedicated LTP team for each aircraft layover.

“We have customized our solutions for AirAsia X according to what they need,” says Dr. Burkhard Andrich, president and CEO of Lufthansa Technik Philippines. “In doing so, we are able to ensure the quality of service Lufthansa Technik is known for and are able to deliver more efficiencies for our customers.”

The customization is further enhanced by LTP’s production system which is wholly aligned with the global production processes and standards of Lufthansa Technik AG.

According to Soo Hoo Haw Loon, director of engineering of AirAsia X, “Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ expertise and leadership in the MRO field makes us once again entrust our aircraft to them. Our commitment of providing quality service and safety of our passengers is important to us and the quality and reliability of LTP ensures that we are able to deliver that.”

LTP has a breadth of experience in airframe maintenance services. Focusing on base maintenance checks for the A320 family, A330/A340, and A380 aircraft types, it has 8 hangar bays in Manila which have been designed according to the latest industry standards. The facility is also compliant with local and international safety, environmental and health standards. For more information, log on to www.ltp.com.ph.
