MBABANE- His Majesty King Mswati III has appointed Dr Ndiphethe Olive Mabila as the Deputy Director of the ACC.

ACC is the acronym for the Anti Corruption Commission. Mabila’s appointment was announced by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Sibusiso Shongwe, in his offices yesterday.

“I am pleased to announce a command from His Majesty King Mswati III according to Section 4 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, to appoint Dr Ndiphethe Olive Magagula as the Deputy Commissioner of the Anti Corruption Commission,” Shongwe said.

He said Mabila would hold his new position for the next five years and his appointment would be with immediate effect. Before his appointment, Mabila (36) was the Chief Aviation Security Officer for the Swaziland Civil Aviation Authority. He said he was part of setting up the security standards for King Mswati III International Airport. Mabila is also a former police officer, and his highest qualification is a PHD in Public Management, which he obtained from the Durban University of Technology.

In a separate interview, Mabila said all he could say on his appointment is ‘Bayethe!’ because being appointed was ‘something else.’
He said he was ready to take on new challenges as the nation trusted him.

He said he had been dealing with security issues since 1997, when he was a junior police officer.
“All I can say is Bayethe!. I am ready to take the new challenges as the nation believes in me,” Mabila said.
