Kerala SSLC exams results recorded pass percentage of 95.47 ; girls outshine boys

Kerala SSLC 2014 Exam results that were declared yesterday 1.e April 16 recorded a pass percentage of 95.47. As many as 4.42 lakh students out of 4.64 lakh examinees have been declared eligible for higher studies in the SSLC examinations

The results this year was declared in record 19 days time. The exams began on March 10, 2014 with Malayalam language paper and concluded on March 22. The results were expected to be published on or before April 20 but were published before time.

Announcing the results here on the day, Education Minister PK Abdu Rabb said at a press conference that the success rate this year increased by 1.3 per cent over last year performance. Girls however scored over boys recording a pass per cent of 96.53 compared to boys at 94.44 per cent. 2,36 lakh boys and 2.28 lakh girls-appeared for the examination.

The pass percentage among private candidates found was 62.81. There were 4,534 private students.

Of the 334 students who took the examination in the aurally challenged category, 333 were declared eligible for higher studies (99.17 per cent).

As many as 934 schools registered 100 per cent success. These included 281 government schools (an increase of 7), 367 aided schools (an increase of 40), and 286 unaided schools (an increase of 26).

Kannur posted the highest success rate among revenue districts at 98.27 per cent and Kaduthuruthy with 98.68 per cent among the educational districts.

Among the revenue districts, the highest number of students who secured A+ for all subjects - 2,056 - was from Malappuram. Tirur where 919 candidates bagged A+ for all subjects came first on the list of educational districts.

As many as 89.52 per cent of the Scheduled Caste candidates gained eligibility for higher studies and 329 got A+ in all papers. Among Scheduled Tribe students, the pass percentage was 84.30 and 13 got A+ grade. Among OBC candidates, the pass percentage was 95.96 and 8,438 got A+ in all subjects.
