It’s got to be a nerve-wracking experience being the “am” in a pre-PGA Tour tournament pro-am, where simply hitting the fairway and not making a complete fool of yourself alongside one of the best players in the world becomes a Herculean task. The poor guy playing alongside Jordan Spieth at Harbour Town Golf Links had the worst stroke of luck imaginable Wednesday. While taking a shot with a wedge, the player plunked Spieth, No. 9 in the world, in the back of the leg.

“He felt really bad,” Spieth told GolfWeek, “but I kept telling him that I’m fine.” Spieth played the rest of his round, but we imagine he might be sore in the morning.
