Tulsi papers shifted from Palanpur to Ahmedabad
AHMEDABAD: Following the Supreme Court's (SC) order to transfer case papers of the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and the Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounters to the Mumbai court, the Palanpur sessions court on Wednesday sent documents to Ahmedabad's CBI court.
The Palanpur police brought case papers and accused cops to the CBI magisterial court with a note from the sessions court that the special court should take custody of the documents.
This was due for nearly a year, but the writ from the SC did not come to these courts.
The CBI court, which started recording production of the accused cops in this case in 2012, stopped doing so last year. Only three cops from the Taloja prison - D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Panidan and Abdul Rehman continued to be produced before the CBI court. But this court has once against begun recording their production.
CBI filed a chargesheet in this case against 20 people, but the SC merged this case with the Sohrabuddin encounter case in response to a petition filed by former state minister and an accused in this case, Amit Shah.
