NAGPUR: Thieves on bike robbed three people, including two women, in separate incidents in the last 24 hours. Since Tuesday late night, three cases were registered at Dhantoli, Pachpaoli and Rana Pratap Nagar police stations.
The first incident was reported by 39-year-old Dadaji Samarth, a resident of Kapse Layout at Rana Pratap Nagar police station late on Tuesday night.
Samarth said he was heading home on cycle from his duty when three youths on bike stopped him on Gayatri Mandir Road to ask some address. Before Samarth could understand anything, the trio threatened him with a knife and robbed him of his cell phone and cash Rs 2,000. Samarth claimed that he suffered minor injuries in trying to right the thieves.
On Wednesday morning, KT Nagar resident Sangeeta Paunikar, 41, filed a complaint of youths on bike robbing her gold chain worth Rs 40,000. Paunikar said she was driving her scooter on Gowari flyover when two youths on a speeding bike came from behind and snatched her gold chain. Dhantoli police have registered a case.
A similar incident took place at Vaishali Nagar at around 2pm. Senior citizen Vatsala Nandanvar, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, was walking home when bike-borne youths snatched her gold chain worth Rs 30,000.
