Palanpur: The soaring temperature has started having an impact on poll campaign in north Gujarat as few people are turning up at road shows and public rallies of contestants.
The summer heat is increasing across the region every passing day. On Wednesday, Idar in Sabarkantha was the hottest at 41.5 degrees celsius.
Officials at Pilot Weather Observatory in Deesa said, "The heat wave from north and north eastern parts continue to hit the region." Deesa recorded a maximum temperature of 42.4 degrees celsius and a minimum of 27.4 degrees celsius on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

People are refraining from come out during the daytime in various towns and villages of Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan and Aravalli districts where the streets wear a deserted look.
