A rapist caught after 6 weeks

SAHIWAL- Following the notice of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif over the alleged gang rape of an orphan girl, police have claimed to arrest the main accused.

The accused was arrested within 24 hours from Nankana Sahib. Earlier on Tuesday, the Punjab CM gave a deadline of 48 hours to police officials to book the culprits to justice. Punjab Chief Minister visited Sahiwal and met the relatives of a girl who was allegedly gang-raped. Shahbaz Sharif expressed his sympathy with the victim’s family. CM Shahbaz, who was accompanied by Inspector General of Punjab police, summoned relevant police officials and scolded them for mishandling the case.

The Chief Minister also suspended DSP, SHO and investigation officer over their negligence in the case. “The IG and RPO will also be suspended if culprits are not arrested within 48 hours” he ordered. Six weeks ago, an orphan girl was alleged raped by six men in village of Sahiwal.
