Madhur Bhandarkar slams colleagues, bats for Narendra Modi

Zee Media Bureau/ Gayatri Sankar Mumbai: Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar took to Twitter to express his support to Narendra Modi even as a number of his colleagues from the film industry have spoken against the Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate. Bhandarkar tweeted, “Shocking to see some colleagues , under garb of stopping so-called divisive forces, are themselves dividing a secular place like Bollywood (sic).” He added, “Launching a personal attack on a man who has done more for his State than any other leader, reeks of conspiracy & unwarranted paranoia. Let`s hope better sense prevails and our film industry elects @narendramodi with a thumping majority. It`s time India got a visionary leader.

Bhandarkar’s support has come at a time, when a number of celebrities from Bollywood- Nandita Das, Mahesh Bhatt, Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Kabir Khan and several others- issued a collective appeal to vote “strategically” to protect India’s secular character.
