Less than a month ago we reported about the new Ducati D|air system integration with their Multistrada 1200 S Touring machine, and now it’s time to show you an extensive gallery of high-res photos of the bike and the jacket.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring D|air was revealed as an early 2015 model year, sporting basically the same tech features of the 2014 version, but with the added D|air module which links the rider and passenger airbag-equipped jackets and the bike’s electronics.
Multistrada D|air is the fruitful result of a close collaboration between Ducati and Dainese, and represents a huge step in motorcycle safety. Tests have repeatedly demonstrated that the D|air airbag becomes fully inflated in just 45 milliseconds, and the system has already received certification from TÜV SÜD and verification from the ADAC (German Automobile Club), as well as the French SRA (Sécurité et Réparation Automobiles), with the latter also awarding a 5-star rating, a premiere for such a system.
Unlike other motorcycle/rider airbags, the Dainese D|air is linked wirelessly to the bike, itself equipped with specific sensors which help determining in real time whether an accident is about to happen. The 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring D|air is the most advanced airbag system to date, and Dainese adds that the technology is also available to other manufacturers who want to implement it in their machines.
