Duping: Gridco staffer arrested

BERHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested a man from Sorada, about 80 km from here, on charges of duping several unemployed youths, promising employment. Police said the accused is an employee of state-owned Gridco and collected lakhs of rupees from the youths, assuring jobs in private power distribution companies.
He was nabbed while coming to his father-in-law's house, said IIC, Sorada police station, S K Jena.Police seized at least six passbooks of different banks, cheque books and incriminating documents, including call letters for jobs, from him.
"We are investigating whether any other persons were involved and the exact amount collected," police said.
