CSIR to start application process for PhD program from April 20

CSIR- Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology to start application process for eligible candidates for the PhD program in interdisciplinary field of research focused on biological sciences.

The broad interdisciplinary research areas are Biological and Chemical Sciences, Molecular Medicine and Disease Genomics, Environmental Biotechnology and Computational Biology.

Admissions take place through written examination with questions to test aptitude in biology and basic knowledge on chemistry and mathematics. Candidates are then called for a round of personal interview

Each student will have a Doctoral Advisory Committee (DAC) that mentors the student during the course of PhD.

Multiple DAC examinations are held during the PhD tenure and clearing DAC examinations is mandatory for successful completion of PhD.

Aptitude examination date: June 15, 2014
Results of aptitude examination: tentatively by June 18, 2014
