MENDHAR, Apr 15: Outplaying New Five Star Cricket Club (NFSCC) by 22 runs in the summit clash, Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC), Kotan lifted the title trophy of the Seasonal T20 Cricket Cup, which concluded at O P Hill Stadium, here today.
19 teams drawn from Mendhar and adjoining areas participated in the event to vie for the top honours.
Earlier, bating first, Young Star scored a fighting total of 136 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Raja Mahi top scored with 26 runs.
In reply, NFSCC bundled out for 114 runs to lose the match by 22 runs. Raja Mahi was adjudged man of the match, while Shakeel Ahmed and Syed Tariq Hussain Shah Bukhari were declared man of the series and best performer of the tournament respectively.
Senior cricketer Majid Ahmed Khan was the chief guest on the occasion, while Nazim Ali Manhas was the guest of honour, who later-on distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
The tournament was sponsored by IQRA Sports Centre Mendhar, Bukhari Telecommunications, Iqbal Enterprises and Press Council of Mendhar.
