Woman mowed down, child critical

BANGALORE: It was 10am on Tuesday. A 55-year-old woman and her four-year-old child were crossing Bellary Road near Hebbal flyover when a KSRTC bus rushing towards the airport crashed into them. The impact was such that both were thrown in the air.
The two were admitted to nearby Baptist Hospital. While the woman succumbed to injuries, the boy is battling for life with severe head injuries.He was shifted to Nimhans later, police said.
Both are yet to be identified. S Girish, DCP (traffic, west), said they were probably from a slum in the area.
R T Nagar traffic police arrested KSRTC bus driver Muniraju P and registered a case of death due to negligence against him.
