Linda Perry on why her relationship with wife Sara Gilbert works

By Tiffany BakkerNews Corp Australia

Linda Perry has described what makes her relationship with new wife, Sara Gilbert, work.

“There’s nothing Sara is hiding from me, and there’s nothing I’ve hidden from her,” Perry told People magazine. “That’s why it works, because it’s just like, ‘Here I am.’ “

Perry and Gilbert began dating in 2011, before marrying on a Malibu horse ranch in late March. Perry says solid communication has been a constant.

“We’ve always been pretty open with each other,” she said. “I think that’s what the draw is.”

Workwise, the two are busier than ever; Perry’s VH1 musician mentoring show The Linda Perry Project is premiering in July, while Gilbert is producing and starring in the upcoming television comedy Bad Teacher.

Perry says the couple are looking forward to some downtime.

“We love to walk. That’s our fun thing to do because of exercise, and we get to walk around LA, and we discover new things all the time,” Perry said.
