On April 1st, the OCC issued the “Garnishment of Accounts Containing Federal Benefit Payments” booklet, which is new to the Comptroller’s Handbook. The guidance applies to all national banks and federal savings associations. OCC Bulletin 2014-12.
CFPB Office of Consumer Response Annual Report
On March 31st, the CFPB issued its annual report on complaints received regarding financial products. The largest number of complaints received pertain to mortgage services, followed by debt collection. Interestingly, only one percent of complaints refer to payday loan services. Annual Report.
