The Cowboys have already made one impact signing at defensive tackle, but they might be looking for another.
According to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald was among the visitors to the Cowboys complex Monday.
Donald’s one of the most explosive linemen in this draft, inside or out. He ran a 4.68 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine (at 285 pounds), making him the interior equivalent of Jadeveon Clowney.
The Cowboys might not have enough ammunition to get him picking 16th, but he’d be an intriguing add to a defense that sorely needs him.
The Cowboys signed former Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton this offseason. Like Donald, he plays the three-technique tackle position which is essential in coordinator Rod Marinelli’s system.
But Melton’s presence doesn’t mean they’d pass on Donald, just that they might finally have some line depth.
