Letran vs. San Beda, La Salle vs. UE open 2014 FilOil preseason tourney

The 2014 FilOil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup will kickoff with four games, including an NCAA Finals rematch between the runners-up Letran Knights and the San Beda Red Lions, and a battle between the reigning UAAP titlists DLSU Green Archers and the defending FilOil tourney champs UE Red Warriors, Saturday, April 26, at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

Earlier in the day, seniors division action begins with the San Sebastian Stags taking on the UP Fighting Maroons at 9:30am, followed by the FEU Tamaraws tackling the Mapua Cardinals at 11:15am. San Beda versus Letran follows at 2pm, before DLSU versus UE closes things out for the division at 4pm.

The nightcap will be a juniors clash of champions between San Beda High and NU, at 6pm.

The juniors and women’s divisions actually start playing on April 23, with a five-game slate.

This year’s edition of the tourney includes a five gameday jaunt to Cebu, which will see UAAP squads DLSU and UE taking on CESAFI teams University of San Carlos, Southwestern University and University of Visayas, from May 21 to May 25.

The last day of the elimination round will be May 31, before quarterfinals play out on June 2 and June 4. Semifinals will be on June 6, before the Finals for all three divisions unfolds on June 7. - AMD, GMA News
