Shivani, Dani, Laa move up; Joshi crashes out of World Junior Badminton

India's medal hope and former U-19 world No. 1 Aditya Joshi crashed out from the BWF World Junior Badminton Championships at Alor Setar, Malaysia, on Monday.

Nagpur: India's medal hope and former U-19 world No. 1 Aditya Joshi crashed out from the BWF World Junior Badminton Championships at Alor Setar, Malaysia, on Monday.
In the boys singles second round encounter, Joshi lost tamely against Seung Jae Seo. The Korean won 21-18, 21-9 in 34 minutes.
However, Mumbai lad Harsheel Dani and Talar Laa continued their good run with comfortable victories over their respective opponents.

Ruthvika Shivani also advanced to the girls singles third round when the tall Andhra Pradesh shuttler made the short work of Macau's Kit Ieng Wong.
The boys doubles pair of MR Arjun and Chirag Shetty won their first round encounter but other doubles pair of Chirag Sen and Saurabh Sharma bowed out. Indian challenge ended in the mixed doubles with both the pairs losing in the second round.

Boys singles: Harsheel Dani bt Alexandre Hammer (FRA) 21-11, 21-16; Talar Laa bt David Peng (GER) 21-19, 21-12; Aditya Joshi lost to Seung Jae Seo (KOR) 18-21, 9-21.
Girls singles: G Ruthvika Shivani bt Kit Ieng Wong (MAC) 21-9, 21-6.
Boys doubles: MR Arjun-Chirag Shetty bt Chongo Mulenga-Cheezwa Nakanda (ZAM) 21-10, 21-7; Chirag Sen-Saurabh Sharma lost to Chia-Han Lee-Yuan Cheng Wu (TPE) 15-21, 17-21.
Mixed doubles: Chirag Sen-Kuhoo Garg lost to Viriyangkura Tanupat-Pacharapun Chochuwong (THA) 10-21, 8-21; BR Sankeerth-Mira Mahadevan lost to Zi Heng Ooi-Zhen Yap (MAS) 10-21, 5-21.
