I support Modi, not Rajnath: MNS chief

Thackeray declared that his candidates who win the Lok Sabha election will support Narendra Modi.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackarey Monday said he supports Narendra Modi and not Rajnath Singh. While speaking in Kothrud for MNS candidate Deepak Paigude, Thackeray once again spoke out against north Indians, saying that after Modi becomes PM, he will request him to develop UP like Gujarat so that residents of the state do not migrate to Maharashtra.

Thackeray declared that his candidates who win the Lok Sabha election will support Narendra Modi. BJP chief Rajnath Singh had recently said without naming Thackarey that those supporting Modi should either support or merge in “Mahayuti” — an alliance between the BJP, Shiv Sena, Republic Party of India (RPI), Shetkari Sanghatna and Rashtriya Samaj Paksha — in Maharashtra.

In response, Thackeray said his party is not from UP.

“I support Modi, not Rajnath Singh. If Modi is not talking about it, why are you.”
