Growing Membership and Value Yield Most Successful Annual Service Industry Association Event Ever

SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--

The Service Industry Association (SIA), a non-profit association of enterprises involved in the service and support supply chain of technology products, announced today that this year's Service Leader Executive Summit, held earlier this month, turned out its largest number of participants ever. Veterans to the association were accompanied by new and prospective members, as well as renowned keynote speakers to mark the event's 29th anniversary.

"Interest in the SIA is growing exponentially," said newly appointed President of the SIA Board and CEO of Essintial Enterprise Solutions, Tom York. "The ramp-up in membership and event attendance clearly demonstrates service leaders' need to find and share best practices that will support our collective expansion. As a long-term member, first in my roles at IBM (News - Alert) and now as an independent service organization (ISO), I relate to these demands. In response, I'm working closely with the Board and Committees to develop new research and benchmarks, as well as partnership opportunities."

<> The Summit kicked-off with discussions around critical business reinvention initiatives. Doug Tatum, a well-known thought leader in educating and advocating for emerging businesses and Chairman of the Board and Member of the Board of Directors of the Newport Board Group, started the conversation which was followed by a panel discussion. The meeting then addressed other key service management issues such as mobility, the millennial workforce, global business practices, and performance metrics. Attendees also enjoyed several networking opportunities, supporting the SIA's mission to help members find business opportunities within the association.
