Prem Chopra is my very first villain: Akshay Kumar

The unveiling of legendary villain Prem Chopra’s biography saw host of celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor amongst many others. The first one to arrive was Akshay Kumar and both, Akshay and Prem Chopra complimented each other for their physique and fitness.

“Prem Chopra is my very first villain and he is the youngest villain,” grinned Akshay. Both remembered some of the famous dialogues that Prem Chopra shared with late Rajesh Khanna – Akshay’s father-in-law.And Prem Chopra’s real life son-in-law, Sharman Joshi had a hilarious tale to narrate. “When I was dating his daughter, I was shit scared the day I had to meet him for the first time. I was imagining him to be with 20 goons all ready to pounce upon me. But he turned out to be such a thorough gentleman,” said Sharman. Since Prem Chopra is one of the few actors to have worked for more than five decades -- from black and white era to the new millennium, his author-daughter Rakita Nanda had a tough task while researching for the book. She had to meet a whole lot of people from the industry since her father had worked with several generations of actors in his career spanning 50 years, prime example being the Kapoor family. "I have acted with every generation of Kapoors, from Prithviraj Kapoor to Ranbir to Kareena," said Prem Chopra. Also, newspaper clippings of 45 years that were preserved by her mother, Uma, came to Rakita's aid.
