Government-Taliban ceasefire to continue: Maulana Yousuf Shah

PESHAWAR- The coordinator of Taliban negotiating team Maulana Yousuf Shah, has dismissed any impression of deadlock in government-Taliban peace talks and hoped for headway in the ongoing dialogue process.

Talking to a private TV Channel today Shah said soon there would be key developments in negotiations between Taliban and government committees, saying that the release of non-combatants would make the talks purposeful and yield more results. He said his Taliban-proposed committee, which is headed by JUI-S chief Maulana Sami ul Haq, is in contact with Taliban leadership as well as the federal government and the government team. Replying to a question about ceasefire, he said the government-Taliban truce would go on. He said meeting between Taliban and government intermediaries is likely to be held in a couple of days.
